Norman kicked off at 13.55 on a bright sunny afternoon, ideal conditions for football. Norman are looking for their 1st win of the season after being so close in their last game. Todays match against unbeaten League leaders Aylsham( who were runners up to us last season) was expected to be a tough one as usual, but Norman are ready, so bring it on.
Within seconds from kick off Aylsham goes in for the attack, but Max intercepts and takes the ball, lays it off to Dec in the RB position who then makes a neat long pass up the line, which Jimmy runs on to, then taking a 1st time shot which Aylsham defends.
Amin starting in CM this week, makes an excellent run through the middle with some neat ball skills and great link up play with Billy on the left wing. who was having a good game following on from last week.
Norman continues to be strong with Ashley.M. and Aiden dominating in the midfield, breaking up Aylshams attacks. Aylsham has an attempt on goal at 14 minutes in but the ball went wide, well covered by Leo.
Brilliant cross made by Billy at 16 minutes in, which Jake.S. makes , but Aylsham defence stays strong and recovers the ball.
Jimmy makes some spot on tackles and battles for the ball, but once again no ones on the right to help. Norman we seem to be playing most of the game on the left wing, making Steven, Aiden and Billy work extra hard which they are handling well, we need to switch the ball a bit more.
Jake clears with a high ball which lands by Ashley. M.'s feet, who then draws a free kick from the defence but the GK saves well from the free kick,
Good throw in by Steven which finds Fred who in turn finds Jimmy, but Aylsham defends well, subs are then made with Amin coming off and Chandler coming on. Instantly Chandler makes his presence known with a cracking back heel, as well as putting pressure on Aylsham, which creates a corner for Norman. Jake.S. takes the corner and sends in a curler which the GK saves, excellent attempt Jake.
Billy comes battling up the wing and takes control of the ball, unfortunately the pass to Jake was quickly surrounded by defence. Jimmy then comes off with Jezza coming on, within minutes Chandler makes a wicked pass to Jezza , who has a shot on target but GK saves.
Max also having a great game makes an attempt on goal after making a wicked run through, but the GK saves.
Jezza continues battling on, playing some excellent football with Dec making some strong passes to Jezza, followed by Ashley.M. with some superb ball control.
Pressure is put on by Norman with lots of attempts on Aylshams goal.The first half comes to an end with both defences on form making the score 0-0 at half time, excellent half lads.
Back on at 14.41 with Amin on and Billy off, Jules on and Dec off as well as James on and Jake off. Norman straight away on the attack with James passing a great ball to Jezza , who narrowly misses the goal. Defence then seems to go to sleep, the consequence is Aylsham making 2 attempts on goal within 4 minutes of half time, but Leo staying strong does his job well.
Amin shows he means business with some excellent runs followed by Ashley.m. staying strong in CDM.
Steven makes a good throw to in to Chandler who passes to Jezza, who makes another attempt on goal but once again saved.
7 minutes into the second half and Jules makes an excellent ball but knocked off by Aylsham, Jules continues playing hard but takes an injury to the head, which he mans out and continues on battling, well done Jules. Subs are then made with Jezza coming off and Jake back on but by this point Norman had gone quiet, with little communication going on.
Aylsham makes an excellent attempt on goal but just misses, this wakes Norman up and starts them battling again.
Chandler strikes the ball finding Jake who belts the ball from the center towards the goal, but it flies high.
Aiden shows off his excellent ball skills with Ashley.M. making a wicked back header.
Max makes a spot on pass to Ashley who releases to Chandler who scores with a tap in (to make it to 3 goals in 3 games), at 15.05 with 18 minutes of game play left.
James comes off after an injury and Jimmy comes back on, but Norman continues battling with Amin sending across a great ball to Jake who takes a shot, but skims the cross bar with 8 minutes left. Amin comes off with Billy coming back on, Aylsham battles for that goal but Leo makes sure that it doesnt happen. Finally that full time whistle is blown ending the game with a hard earned 1-0 win to Norman, making it the 1st win of the season. Excellent football Norman but please learn from your mistakes and make more noise on the pitch. A GREAT BATTLE TODAY!!
