With a weekend that started with so much hope for the season ahead soon turned into embaressment. As the Magic turned up with only 12 players and no keeper to start, Alex was to offer his services between the sticks, we had no time for a decent warm up due to people ariving late or not turning up at all so every hope of doing well was soon to vanish. The Magic were very slow to start and before we knew it we where 4-0 down and showing no sign of improvment. This was soon made worse with a poor call from the ref when he handed Cuxton 91 a Pen for handball when a close range strike struck Jon on the hand which he clearly had down and tucked into his body, so surely could not be delibrate. However things were still to worsen as at half time we found ourselves 7-0 down which was purely down to some of the most important factors of football, Not Pressing, Not wanting to head the ball, No talking, Very little passing, and mostly long ball and simply a very poor work rate. A few changes at half time did improve our game but we were still no match for cuxton 91 with Ola coming on for Walker and Beesly to swap with Alex between the sticks with alex moving to his natral position. The second half left the Magic with nothing but pride to play for and we we did play a little better. Noticable Alex and Mike Marter who where to get stuck in for the remainder of the match and Beesly in goal despite a few errors. So come full time and the result a embarrassing 10-0 a club record defeat we can only hope for a vast improvment in the weeks to follow as today was simply just not good enough.
