The manager’s selection placed Jacob Williams [GK], Connor Simmonds, Harry Goodwright, Billy Tidman, Jamie Pye, Sam White, Jack Amos, Ewan Carcary and Josh Ashdown first out, with Toby Martin in the wings as the appointed substitute.
First Half:
It was the mighty left foot of Jamie Pye that sealed the deal for a 4-2 home victory against Snodland Nomads FC from a well-deserved penalty.
The mighty Lions started on somewhat shaky ground , conceding a goal early on from a well-placed free kick, which was perfectly ute by the big #11 (who was immediately causing the back three no end of troubles).
Most games are won or lost through midfield and this game was no different, the mighty Lions worked tirelessly throughout and were rewarded with a nineteen minute equaliser from the mighty left foot of Billy Tidman on a precision through ball from Connor Simmonds.
The back three of Sam White, Connor Simmonds and Harry Goodwright were starting to excel in their defensive positions; all three were calm in their movement on and off the ball.
Lions continued the pile on the pressure forcing the play into the Valley half with beautifully controlled passing throughout midfield from Billy Tidman and Jamie Pye who was again unlucky not to find the right boot the Josh A. Lions were moving the ball around well…..
Second Half:
The mighty Lions blasted out of the blocks for the start of the second half, almost looking like a new team, with the hunger, drive and focus visible for all to see.
The second goal came from a perfectly placed corner ball from Josh A which found the left foot of Billy Tidman placing him on goal number two.
Snodland were working the ball well, but were stopped by the Lions defensive wall of Harry Goodwright [who was having a great game], Sam White and Connor Simmonds, all of which were focusing on their positions. This game was all about Lions and to be honest apart from the odd break from the away side, the Lions were always the controlling factor.
The third goal came from yet another perfectly place corner from Josh A this time finding the head of Billy Tidman [There are not many keepers that can save those types of headers]. HAT TRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCK
A small lapse in concentration saw the away side get their second goal, but the mighty Lions sealed the deal with a Jamie Pye penalty as won by Connor Simmonds.
Another great performance from the Mighty Loose Lions Rovers FC and STILL unbeaten in the league
