Launton FC u11's travelled to Easington Sports in Banbury today for what was going to be a tough first game of the season.

They approached the game with some caution in the first few minutes and unfortunately found themselves on teh back foot and conceded two quick goals. Launtons heads did not drop and after some nice passing and moving through the midfield found a quick ball through to Kahliem who broke through the defence to make it 2-1.

Easington were very quickly on the attack again and were flooding the box with players all eager to score.. Launton kept control and passed the ball well using the width of the pitch until Half Time

Half Time 2-1 Easington Sports

Easington Sports were again quick out the blocks at the start of the second half and Launton were defending well until a very quick move by Easington produced another goal. 3-1. The two goal lead did not last for long following a great team move by Launton who found Robbie out wide on the left, Robbie was attacking the goal with pass and despite calls from the team and coaches fro a cross in to the box, Robbie shot and found the bottom corner for a cracking individual goal. 3-2..

The game was on a knife edge and was from end to end and Launton really thinking they could win it and all players had that determined look in their eyes.. COME ON LAUNTON was the cry’s. Whistle goes penalty to Easington.

Adam R faced up to the penalty taker and following a strong shot to the left corner.. SAVE, Adam R got across and pushed it out for a corner . Great Save and not bad for his first time in goal.. (Must be the new gloves)

Easington picked themselves up and were quickly back at it pushing forward and putting the pressure on, Launtons midfielders contained them well and got some good tackles in and countering the attack when they could with great runs from Elijah, Adam G and Jack.

Despite some great defending and effort from Lewis and Luke Easington broke through twice more 5-2.. Despite this the Launton team pushed forward and again showed great determination and the midfield found Kahliem who sneaked through for his second 5-3..

The game finished 5-3.

Launton’s man of the match was Luke Edwards, who was committed to every challenge and he run his socks off.

Congratulations to both teams who played a very exciting game that was end to end and enjoyable for both teams and supporters
