Huntingdon Town u11’s faced off against Kick Off Sports u11 Black in a league home match at Jubilee Park on 8th September 2024, with kick-off at 9:45 am.

The match concluded with a resounding victory for Huntingdon Town, showcasing their attacking prowess and solid teamwork throughout the game.

The starting line-up for The Hunters featured Noah White in goal, supported by a defensive trio of Arthur Jupe, Riley Merritt, and Reuben Zimmermann.

The midfield was anchored by captain Noah Hopkins & Oscar Stevens who bring strength & creativity with Callum Cooper & Jacob Wyatt providing the width.

Noah Conroy playing the pivotal role as the lone forward, tasked with leading the line and converting chances into goals, something which he does with ease.

The substitutes, Oscar Clarke, Will Stewart, George Smith, Theo Coughlin for the match included players who would later be introduced to maintain the team's momentum.

The first half of the match was a display of Huntingdon Town's attacking intent, with Noah Conroy leading the charge.

The home side quickly established dominance, utilising their midfield strength to control possession and create numerous scoring opportunities.

Conroy was particularly influential, finding space and making incisive runs that troubled the Kick Off Sports defence.

As the half progressed, Town's relentless pressure paid off, with five goals, yes five goals being scored in quick succession from Conroy, who in a devastating 20 minutes put the game to bed.

The combination of swift passing and intelligent movement off the ball left the opposition struggling to cope.

Jacob Wyatt bagging a brace in the final ten minutes of the first half, one of which came off his bum, when it’s your day, it’s just your day.

The defensive and midfield unit of Jupe, Merritt, Zimmermann, Hopkins & Stevens remained resolute, ensuring that Kick Off Sports found it difficult to mount any significant attacks.

The Hunters went in 7-0 up at HT.

In the second half, The Hunters continued where they left off, maintaining their high tempo and attacking mindset.

Left back Theo Coughlin after just coming on got in on the act scoring the eighth goal soon after HT.

The team’s cohesion was evident as they moved the ball fluidly, with each player contributing to both the defensive and offensive phases of play.

Then came centre back Riley Merritt now playing in centre midfield trying his luck from the edge of the box with great success, 9-0

Coughlin seeing his defensive partner scoring from midfield and not wanting to be outdone scored his second with a tidy little finish to make it 10-0

Despite the scoreline, Kick Off Sports managed to find a consolation goal, which was a testament to their perseverance, 10-1.

However, it was clear that The Hunters were in a league of their own on this day with Oscar Stevens hitting one from outside the box, and boy did it fly, right into the top corner, he’ll do very well to beat that goal this season, 11-1.

Then last but definitely not least along comes Callum Cooper, on any other day he’d have scored a hat trick, and it certainly wasn’t from his lack of effort he didn’t, Callum finished off the scoring today with a finish from inside the box wrong footing the keeper to slide it in.

The match concluded with a final score of 12-1, a reflection of Huntingdon Town's dominance and a performance that will be remembered by players and supporters alike.

Noah Conroy's exceptional display earned him the accolade of Player of the Match.

The victory not only boosts the team's confidence but also sets a strong precedent for the remainder of the season.
