A bright sunny autumnal morning saw the Pumas achieve their first
victory of the season. After working out the most complicated catering
facilities of any club yet visited and the minutes silence, the Pumas
kicked off playing into the bright sunlight. In an even matched half
it was the Kestrels who drew first blood. A move led to a breakaway
and a one on one that was finished neatly. Straight from kick off the
Pumas responded. Lucca from the centre circle attacked forward
shrugging off the first tackle, jinked the second and manage to get
off his shot with the final defender closing in to put the ball in the
back of the next. 60 seconds later a goalmouth scramble led to a own
goal from the Kestrels.
The second half started with an equalising goal within 5 minutes. This
led to an onslaught from the Kestrels in search of a win. Some assured
anticipation goalkeeping from Tom, last minute tacking from Danny and
goal line clearances from Benny, kept the ball out the net. With three
minutes to go, came the move of the match. From the halfway line Sean
stole the ball and ran to the right hand corner, being harassed all
the way by one of the Kestrels defenders. Shrugging him off he got a
perfect cross in for Harry to tuck away. 2-3
Special mentions have to go to Keelan, Bradley and Tom for
stepping up and helping achieve a great result. Well done everyone.
