A bare 11 Roebuck showed just how strong the squad is looking for this coming season.
The Bucks beat a very good FC Common team in style, with an outstanding defensive performance, and pace and power up front that proved too much for the home team.
Roebuck took the lead after only two minutes, when Alecs Danila scored with a great finish. Common were soon level after a neat move resulted in a good goal. But after that it was all Roebuck, with great football being played and numerous chances created, Adam Westwood scored to make it 2-1 when he brought the ball down well before turning the defender inside out and placing the ball under the keeper.
Aaron Bufton then made it 3-1 when he was played through and expertly chipped the ball over the on coming keeper, his 6th goal in two games. The second half was a bit more scrappy as the heat took its toll and players got tired. But it was Michael Mustoe who made it 4-1 when he swept the ball home from a corner kick, and then near the end Haydn Elkins produced a fine finish from a tight angle half volley to make it 5 for The Bucks. Common did threaten on occasions but Stuart Stokes and Lee Campion were rock solid at the heart of defence and limited Common to pot shots.
A really good performance from all the 11 that played, as we continue to work hard ready for the start of the season.
