FC Phenom came to the league match today came with high spirit coming off a good run of form in recent friendlies. Despite that, we had a shaky start to the game. This allowed OneOneSeven to dictate the pace of the game early on.
By a stroke of luck and a display of effort, FC Phenom took the lead, albeit against the run of play. (#26) Danial place the opponent right-back under pressure and won the ball off his feet before setting of on a blinding run into the box, beating another two defenders before smashing the ball into the bottom corner of the match in the 8th minute.
10 minutes before the end of the first half, OneOneSe7en equalised and never looked back when the second half kicked off, racing to a 3-1 lead in the 62nd minute.
FC Phenom looked defeated. All except team captain, (#28) Hafidz, who slammed home a half volley from 10 yards after (#25) Azrul delivered a pin point cross to find his skipper. Although the team rallied, it proved all too little, too late as the final whistle blew.
Though the pain and disappointment of defeat were on the players faces today, no one could deny that the better team won the match. FC Phenom could not handle the relentless attacks and long balls as OneOneSe7en got into their stride.
As the season winds down, the pressure is on FC Phenom to deliver the wins and improve on their 4th place finish last season.
