On the back of a bye into the next round of the county cup, EEOB FC were back to league duties against unbeaten AFC Ewell Reserves.
The opening 20 mins was a cagey affair with both teams playing the ball well not many chances, but then the front three of EEOB started to apply more pressure and managed to force the opponents kicking the ball out for a corner. Up stepped the ever reliable Chris Appleby delivery and a headed goal by captain Phil Armstrong his first league goal in 9 years! 1-0! EEOB managed to double their lead just 10 minutes later again the front three pressuring the defence and Alex W was able to force there keeper into a mistake which left Jason to score his first goal of the season from 30 yards out. 2-0! 8 minutes later and the opponents defence was all over the place and Jason closed them down took the ball of there CB ran into the box as the keeper closed him down he rolled the ball across and from 8 yards out Sam M had the easiest goal to score. 3-0! As, the first half come to an end AFC Ewell managed to pull a goal back from there ever dangerous LM gingerindinho who cut in from the left and smashed a ball past the home keeper. 3-1!
HALF TIME

The second half was quite scrappy to begin with not many chances but the home team looked comfortable on the ball in midfield with T Courcha and Q Bagley and the dangerous options outside in L Bagley and D Ducasse and the away team trying to push for a comeback! then after the hour mark there was more changes to the team..
Gooders - Morris Adams - Armstrong
The away side kept pushing for the valuable next goal and it arrived after 66mins from a set piece which EEOB are normally so comfortable dealing with it was a scrappy goal as the first header was brilliantly saved by Murray but the looping heading from the rebound managed to evade everyone hit the bar and fall down over the line, there was protests from the home side but the ref somehow seem to spot it was over the line and gave the goal. 3-2! With half hour left, the away side switches to back 3 trying to push for the equaliser. Again some more changes were made.

With only 10 minutes, AFC Ewell had a threat going forward which was dealt with, which EEOB seemed comfortable with, the ball broke lose to Morris who bought the ball down and released Gooders down the left hand side of the pitch, Gooders beat the man and pulled the ball back to Morris just outside the box who hit the ball first time and powered a curling shot into the bottom corner of the far hand side post for his second of the game. 4-2! The last notable action of the game come from P Adams who got himself booked for a lunge but protested he didn’t manage to make contact.

Another 3 points for the EEOB and on the back of other results sent us top of league.
