In a stunning display of attacking football, Delay Sports Berlin triumphed over SC Union-Südost with an emphatic scoreline of 11-1 in their league home match held at Berlin on 6th October 2024. The match kicked off at 12:20pm and saw a crowd of 351 spectators witness a remarkable performance from the home side.
Delay Sports Berlin lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, designed to provide both defensive solidity and attacking flair. Frederik Mittelstädt took his position in goal, while the back four consisted of Paul Beckmann on the right, Alexander Letz on the left, and the central defensive pairing of Sky-Vincent Tloczynski and Robin Traboulsi. In midfield, Firat Sucsuz and Niklas Jahn operated as central midfielders, tasked with controlling the tempo and linking play. Ahead of them, Dorian Fischer and Timo Schlitt occupied the right and left attacking midfield roles respectively, supporting the central attacking midfielder Patryk Filipiak, who was positioned just behind the lone striker, Pascal Brossmann.
The substitutes for Delay Sports included Luca Incannova, Deniz-Kaan Hirik, Jonas Rohana, Zulu Ernst, and Michael Korovay, who would later play pivotal roles in the match.
The game began with SC Union-Südost taking an unexpected lead in the 17th minute, sending a shockwave through the home crowd. However, Delay Sports quickly responded, with Pascal Brossmann equalising just five minutes later, courtesy of an assist from Alexander Letz. The momentum shifted dramatically as Delay Sports found their rhythm, with Patryk Filipiak scoring shortly after, assisted by Brossmann, to put the home side ahead.
As the first half progressed, Brossmann continued to shine, converting a penalty in the 35th minute before completing his hat-trick just three minutes later, with Timo Schlitt providing the assist. The relentless pressure from Delay Sports was evident, and they capped off a remarkable first half with a goal from Alexander Letz, assisted by Paul Beckmann, just before the whistle blew for half-time, leaving the score at 6-1.
The second half saw a flurry of substitutions for Delay Sports, with Deniz-Kaan Hirik replacing Beckmann, and the introduction of Jonas Rohana, Zulu Ernst, and Michael Korovay shortly thereafter. Brossmann wasted no time in adding to his tally, scoring his fourth goal of the match in the 51st minute, further demoralising the opposition.
Yellow cards were issued to both sides as the match became increasingly one-sided, with Delay Sports continuing to dominate. Sky-Vincent Tloczynski added to the scoreline in the 62nd minute, assisted by Timo Schlitt, before Dorian Fischer scored in the 66th minute, with Brossmann providing the assist. An own goal from an SC Union-Südost player in the 70th minute further compounded their misery.
As the match drew to a close, Michael Korovay found the net in the 85th minute, bringing the score to an astonishing 11-1. The referee issued a final yellow card in the dying moments of the match, but it did little to dampen the spirits of the Delay Sports players, who had delivered a performance for the ages.
In a match that showcased the attacking prowess of Delay Sports Berlin, Pascal Brossmann emerged as the standout performer, contributing significantly to the overwhelming victory. The home side's tactical execution and relentless pressure proved too much for SC Union-Südost, who will need to regroup after such a heavy defeat.
