Chaseside started the game badly and after some sloppy passing Sunseekers created the first couple of chances which they could not capitalise on. After the early onslaught Chaseside got back into the game and started to play their football. This led to the first goal, after some good work down the right by Matt H, he crossed low into the box which was turned into his own net by the Sunseekers striker. At 1-0 Chaseside pushed on and were playing some good football on and off the ball, but as with previous weeks we could not get that illusive 2nd goal to kill the game off. However Sunseekers were soon back in the game at the 30 minute mark after a corner was powerfully headed into the net after some awful marking. This gave them the boost they needed and started to pressure Chaseside’s defence and this led to a goal just before half time. After a long ball took a deflection and looped into the air there was a lack of communication between Stuart and Karl and no one could clear it before a back header in the box found the Sunseeker Forward who calmly rolled the ball into the corner under pressure from two defenders. Chaseside went into half time feeling dejected after conceding so close to half time.
It was more of the same in the second half and every time Chaseside got the ball it was given away or hoofed high into the air straight back to the opposition. Sunseekers continued to pile forward and after one of their Midfielders was fouled just outside the box the left footed striker dispatched the ball into the bottom corner of the net. Chaseside could not get their game together however and after some more schoolboy errors they were punished for a forth time. The final whistle soon went after this and bought probably the worst second half performance this season to a close.
Chaseside now have a break from the league for the next couple of weeks to hopefully secure their places in the 2nd round of the cup competitions.
