Postal traveled 40+ miles to play their @SurreyFA Cup 3rd tie Vs Old Dean Pirates who were a team of giants.
ODP (Old Dean Pirates) played to their strengths as the played a lot of long balls from the off set with a lot of high balls into the postal 18 yard area.
After around 5mins Postal took control of the game and played football in triangles which caused the home team problems as on the 6th min of the game we played ODP at their own game with a long ball onto the edge of the ODP area and Duane Jack brought the ball down with one touch and the other hit a powerful volley which sailed over the bar.
Postal continued the barrage with attacks from either flak from Desmond Noble (Right) and Sam Caillaux (Left) but couldn’t break the ODP defense.
On the 23rd Min ODP took the lead with a trademark goal which Postal should have been excepting where they throw the ball into the box with one of their giants attacking the ball which was saved by the Post keeper (James Dedman) and fell to an ODP player who tapped the ball into the net.
This is what Postal needed as they went straight form the of to attack the ODP half of the pitch where we won a trow deep in the ODP half.
The trow was sent to Duane Jack who crossed the ball to Sam Caillaux who hit the ball first time with a volley on the swivel............ GOAL!!
the ball nestled into the top corner of the ODP net after 25mins.
1-1.
The pressure continued as Postal were looking for the next goal in a game where they were hampered by the ref being totally bias let alone on their side. But on the 34th min their moment came as Tom Gordon played a superb pass into Duane Jack's feet who turned and hit a 25 yard screamer into the top right corner of the ODP's net.
2-1 Postal.
The 1st half continued in the same fashion without either team being able to add to their goal tally.
The 2nd half continued in the same fashion where Postal attempted to get the next goal to kill the game off. They made a change to personnel on the 70th min when Daniel Rowe came on for Duane Jack and Desmond Noble moved upfront,
Again, chance after chance came for the dominant Postal but the turning point came on the 80th min when a freak back pass fell to Desmond Noble who was 1on1 with the ODP keeper but was unable to convert the chance to state his claim to be the No1 Striker in the team.
Another chance came to the forward after the 84th min when a beautifully weighted passed was passed into space by Dale Wiggins which put Desmond in an all to familiar position but again he was unable to convert the chance.
From the resulting kick for the ODP's goal keeper, the ODP team launched a counter attack hitting the ball deep into the Postal Box where their tallest player got a flick-on for their striker to finish an easy and well drilled move to level the game 2 all on 85mins.
The Game went into Extra Time and quickly got tasty when ODP took the lead after 93mins again with a move that the Postal players knew about but couldn’t do much to stop after several goal line clearances.
3-2.
Postal battled hard without any joy until Postal Hit ODP with their own tactic when Darell Mark popped up with a header from a Sam Caillaux cross from a corner .to level the match on the 104thmin.
Duane Jack Came back on in the 2nd half of Extra Time couldn't change the result but again Postal had all the chances to complete the victory.
Full Time and the match went pens where ODP won.
