Away cup match played on 15 September 2013.
Kicked off at 11:00 AM

Coddington travelled to Hucknall for the first round of the Notts Senior Cup to play against The Green Dragon.

In windy conditions Coddington started the much brighter having chance after chance before letting in Green Dragon in to open the scoring from a header from a un marked left winger with a excellent header.

The game was stretched after this with both teams attacking with ease and having chances for both sides. It stayed 1 nil until half time.

2nd half saw Coddington again start the much brighter but within 15 minutes of the re start found themselves 2 nil down from a one on one with the striker and Craig Lamb.

It was all out attack from Coddington after this and we was unlucky not to be given a penalty from clever run from Lewis chambers. This was later made even with what seemed to be a blatant hand ball from Billy Warner. The referee was at last paying attention and awarded a penalty to Coddington for a push in the back on Ricky North in the area.

Chris Self dispatched with ease for the 2nd time due to encroaching in the area on the 1st attempt. With the clock ticking Coddington through caution to the wind and pushed on for the equalising goal which nearly came from an unlikely source that was Ali Cook big toe, with the keeper saving well on the line.

Coddington could not break The Green Dragon down and the game finished 2-1 to the home side.

No defeat is nice but everyone showed some good character to get us back in the game, with a better 2nd half performance. Notable performances for me were Liam Bray who was composed at the back in his first full game for Coddington, Lewis Chambers again the shining light in the team going forward with his endless running and effort, Craig Lamb for turning up half sober and pulling off some great one on one saves, Ollie Highfield also in his first start for Coddington didn't put a foot wrong all day. Manager MOM - Lewis Chambers Opposition MOM - Ricky North(The big lad in the middle)

We now look forward to returning to league action against Holy Trinity on Sunday. Please do not under estimate any team in the league based on previous results they've had. Treat everyone as if we are playing Wheatsheaf like the other week.
