Today saw a light 12 man squad Claregate travel away to Old Bush. With a confusion with Andy Arnold turning up at our home pitch Claregate were forced to start with no subs. Luck went from bad to worse when key man Dale Elliott was forced off with and injury, reducing claregate to 10 men just after 10 minutes of play.
This however did not phase The Rangers and after a hard fought 30 minutes Rodney Williams broke the deadlock after Tom banks had received the ball in the centre of the park, a sharp turn and a quick lay off gave Rodney the opportunity after a great first touch to rifle the ball past the Old Bush keeper.
Claregate battled on and held the lead into half time.
Andy Arnold finally turned up and claregate were able to start the second half with a full team.
Early in the second half the game looked tight with Old Bush starting to get the ball down and spreading our ranks. However Andy turning up gave Claregate a real boost and Claregate were able to ride the pressure. 20 minutes in, and after a great Jonny Wilson corner, Nathan was able to fire a bullet header in which matched a brilliant performance. Ste Ashwin helped keep the game at 2-0 with an 80th minute instinctive save down to his near post. All in all a great win today which keeps the unbeaten run going.
The whole team played fantastic today with Man of the match going to Nathan for a solid defensive performance.
