Home league match played on 08 November 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 AM

A very tight game, as was last year for all those who can remember. Warmsworth nicked it last year. But this year despite a handful of our team having a off game we toughed it out and on chances created were deserved winners.

The day got off to a bad start when we learned that our regular and highly dependable centre half Jimmy Davis had been ruled out due to disciplinary issues at home. A big blow!

As I said to the rest of the coaches and parents 'one players misfortune is anothers fortune'. We had to shuffle the pack a little and move Troz from left back to centre half and put 'MR UTILITY' Catty into left back.

We started very lethargic all over the pitch to be fair, we just aren't firing at the moment. Warmsworth made life difficult by playing a rather negative 5 in midfield with a lone striker. Which I must say caused us some organisational problems. One attacker v four defenders can only spell trouble at this level of football unless the defenders organise themselves well!

We did create however and Calum and Caddy had good half chances. Warmsworth had their fair share of the game as well. Just before the 20 minute mark we took the lead, a bit of pressure, a scramble and Rodders shot low into the bottom corner. We proceeded to take a bit of control. However Warmsorth did break well and we struggled with our wide midfield players not tracking runners and our defenders not really looking that comfortable against a mobile lone striker.

Two minutes before half time Warmswoth got a corner. What happens next? No points for the correct answer, we have struggled all season with defending corners. A scramble and into our net, another soft goal.

Half Time 1 - 1

We weren't all that happy with the boys work or application, with the exception of Maddo and a couple of others the rest were off colour to say the least. The team talk concentrated on the lack of drive and effort to be honest! We needed a response! Usually the boys do come out firing but this week it took us a good 10 mins of second half before we could see the change. Maddo and Caddy we providing the drive Calum down the right the ammunition.

Midway through the second half Maddo was in full cry and his work rate was tremendous a few more like him would make life easier! No surprise then when it was him who popped up to score an excellent individual goal. Picking the ball up in midfield evading two defenders and firing an unstoppable shot into the net!! Get in my son.!

Lucky for us a few more of the 'SLEEPERS' decided to wake up and play Dingle made his first tackle with 15 mins to go, but played the last 15 how we want him to play from the start.Catty was getting going - at last. Ding Dong was steady Eddie as was Simon. And other than the last 5 mins when he lost concentration Troz had a good game.

We had a few scares, both sides had decent penalty appeals turned down. All in all we saw it out well and got the result!!

Full Time 2 - 1

I must say Warmsworth are a strong oufit and caused us a few headaches. But I can't help feeling we won with a bit in hand. Bearing in mind only half of the team performed and we always struggle against a five man midfield!!!!!!!! We have been known to get beat at home by Warmsworth, beat us the last two seasons.

Next week is a top of the table clash away at Town Moor Tigers and I feel we will need to up our performance level to see em off!!
