After losing their last two games BBOB were back to winning ways, helped by players returning from injury, they started with a strong squad and attacked straight from the whistle winning a corner in the 2nd minute of the game, it was taken by George who hit the ball to the far post where Seb Stall connected with his head to make it 1-0. Five minutes later Seb was played through from a pass from Jac, Seb neatly tucked the ball past the on-coming keeper to make it 2-0. Seb was wrestled to the ground inside the penalty area four minutes later, he elected to take the penalty which was saved by the keeper but all he could do was push the ball onto the post to the advancing Alasdair who scored to make it 3-0. Seb was wrestled to the ground again in the 12th minute. This time outside the area, Jonah took the free kick but it sailed over the cross bar. The Clarendon defence were scared of Seb, doing everything they could to thwart his runs, and pulled him down again in the 19th minute, H took the free kick and played it into the Clarendon goal area, it pinged about before coming out to Jac on the left wing, he dribbled past a couple of players and hit a shot to the bottom left hand post which the keeper could reach to make it 4-0. Seb had another solo run at the Clarendon defence but mis-hit his shot. Clarendon had not mounted any credible attack but won a free kick in the 27th minute, Mike in goal saved the shot. BBOB seemed to switch off and Clarendon won three successive corners after this, the third one hitting the left had post which Joe Howard chased out for a throw in. Seb had another chance in the 32nd minute but hit his shot over the cross bar and Ali had a close-range shot saved by the keeper six minutes later. George, playing out on the right, played a ball into H, his shot was saved by the keeper, it fell to Alasdair who fired a shot wide of the post. BBOB went into the second half 4-0 up and it only took 4 minutes to make it 5-0, Dan on the left played a ball into Jac who lobbed the keeper from the edge of the penalty area. Immediately after this Jac came off and was replaced by Tim. Jonah intercepted a pass in the 52nd minute, half way inside our half, he dribbled past several players but was dispossessed just outside the Clarendon penalty area, the ball found its way to Alasdair who fired his shot over the cross bar. Joe Marshall replaced Seb in the 55th minute. Joe Marshall played a short corner to George in the 57th minute, their defender intercepted the ball and put it out for another corner, this time George took the corner hitting it low and hard towards the goal, the ball was cleared by the Clarendon defence. Dan, playing down the left, beat a couple of players before passing the H in the middle his shot was pushed over the bar by the keeper. Paul, needing to rest because of his age! was replaced in the 60th minute by Fletch. Alasdair got his second gaol in the 62nd minute from a pass from Tim to make it 6-0. The Clarendon goalie seemed to have a rush of blood to the head and tried dribbling the ball out of defence, he was dispossessed by Dan who played the ball to Joe Marshall who hit the ball against the cross bar when it seemed easier to score. Joe Howard had a run down the left skipping past a couple of Clarendon defenders before passing the ball to Dan whose shot was pushed over the bar by the goalie. Clarendon, as in the first half, didn’t create any meaningful attacks, their only chances coming from set pieces, forcing Mike to have to make a save and another shot just going wide of the BBOB left-hand post. Fletch took a quick throw-in in the 75th minute to Joe Marshall, his shot hitting the post and going out for a goal kick. In the 82nd minute Alasdair got his hat trick, BBOB won a corner over on our right, the ball pinged about in the goal area before it finally found him just outside the box, he hit the ball first time over the goalie to make it 7-0, he had another chance five minutes later but this time his shot went over the cross bar. The game finished 7-0, BBOB back to winning ways and forward to the next round of the J H Whittington Cup.
