Away league match played on 08 October 2011.
Kicked off at 2:00 PM

It was a very wet day at Feni Rec however the pitch was adjudged to be fit by referee Joe Taylor.

Ben Parker was due back after a long suspension however a back injury ruled him out.  Ste Round was out due to a reoccuring knee injury which meant Andy Eastwood returned to the starting lineup after last weeks trip to the photo studio.  The rest of the team remained unchanged which left Ian Mason and Will Sharples on the bench.

Well tickle my balls and buy me a milkshake Olympic go in front after 6 seconds.....

Feni & Pleasy kicked off and passed the ball back into their own half.  Unfortunately for them they wern't switched on and the Olympic players where.  Sholicar and Tomlinson attacked like a pair of hungry wolves and Tomlinson nicked the ball from the opposition before sliding the ball through to Sholicar who cleverly rounded the keeper to put Olympic 1 up.  Great start...

Joe Taylor's patience was wearing thin with Olympic's potty mouth centre half Stu Clark however he managed to sweet talk his way out of the book.

It was Feni & Pleasy who grabbed an equaliser as a cross wasn't dealt with and when the ball fell to the waiting midfielder it was smashed home and even though Tamas Barath got a big strong hand to it it wasn't enough to keep it out.  1-1 game on...

Olympic got their noses in front again just before half time.  Great work by Lee Grundy in the middle of the park as he robbed the ball from the opposition and fought off 3 players before rolling the ball to Carl Black who lofted a ball over the backline for Tomlinson to have a clear run on goal.  The ever reliable Tommo made no mistake and slid the ball past the keeper to put Olympic back in front.

The opposition were forced into a change at half time with the injured goal keeper having to go off.  Opposition keepers and defenders must hate playing against Olympic's bruising strikers this year none more than Feni & Pleasy who are now on their 3rd keeper in 2 games.

Second half tactical change from Dave Lloyd see's Chris Tomlinson drop back in to the midfield to help out Black & Grundy who were starting to get over run by the 3 central midfielders.  It turned out to be a very good decision because the second half was a breeze for Olympic and never looked in trouble especially with Rob Plummer in fine form at the back.  Olympic had complete possession and dominance after the break but could they show the killer instinct they have been lacking so far this season and put a hat full past the opposition?

It certainly looked that way at one point after two goals in quick succession for Olympic 1st Sholicar stabbed home his second after great vision from Andy Eastwood to pick him out with a long ball then Chris Tomlinson also added his second from a freekick.  4-1...

It was all too easy for Olympic who carved out numerous of opportunities however chance after chance went begging.  Even Olympic left back Stu Brown who has been impressive so far this season had two or three good chances to open his account for Olympic however the stand in keeper and defence managed to get goal saving blocks in.

Phil Scott picked up a yellow card for a tackle that Roy Keane would have been proud of before making way for Will Sharples to put a final appearence in before moving away and Andy Eastwood made way for Ian Mason.

Further chances where missed by Olympic who seem to struggle to really bury teams this season and with the likes of Rishton scoring for fun this has to change.  Anyway it's another 3 points in the bag which leaves Olympic 2nd in the league behind Rishton by 1 point with a game in hand.

Rob Plummer picks up the man of the match rating with Stu Brown a close second.  Next up Blackburn United on Pitch 1, think we should introduce some squat jogs in the warm up?
