The clash between Aylesbury Vale Dynamos and Wycombe Town AC took place at Wycombe College, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath on 6th October 2024, kicking off at 2:45pm. The match ended in a dramatic 3-2 win, with Aylesbury showing their attacking and team play togetherness but unfortunately for the 2nd week running struggling to convert their chances and putting the ball in the back of the net!! The Start of the game was exciting from the get go with Aylesbury on the press straight from the whistle!!

Aylesbury Vale Dynamos lined up in a 3-4-1 formation, which featured Charley Sweeny in goal, flanked by a defensive trio of Caleb De Silva, Ryan Goldan, and Noah Weaving. The midfield was anchored by Harrison Walcott and Manni Taylor in central roles, while Max Cantwell and Kai Vaughan operated as right and left midfielders, respectively. Noah Stappard led the line as the striker, supported by the attacking midfield presence of Manni Taylor. The formation allowed for a balanced approach, with width provided by the midfielders and defensive solidity from the back three.

The substitutes for Aylesbury Vale Dynamos included Oli White and Teddy Cheesman, who would later be called upon to influence the game.

The match began with an early attempt from Max Cantwell, whose shot was saved just a minute in, setting the tone for a lively first half. Kai Vaughan followed suit with another attempt in the third minute, but his effort was also thwarted by the Wycombe goalkeeper. Charley Sweeny, the Aylesbury keeper, was called into action in the sixth minute, making a confident catch to deny the opposition.

As the first half progressed, Vaughan continued to test the Wycombe defence, but his efforts in the ninth and twelfth minutes were saved. Sweeny showcased his skills again in the tenth minute, diving at the feet of an attacker to maintain the scoreline. Cantwell had a series of attempts, but his shots in the twelfth, thirteenth, and twentieth minutes were all saved or went wide, reflecting the pressure Aylesbury was applying.

Whilst applying an attacking mentality the Aylesbury defensive trio of De Silva, Golden and Weaving kept strong and dependable deploying the ball forward and distributing it into areas where the forward players could create chances!

Noah Weaving made a crucial defensive clearance in the twenty-third minute, preventing a potential goal-scoring opportunity for Wycombe. However, the deadlock was broken in the twenty-fourth minute when Wycombe Town AC found the net, taking a 1-0 lead. Sweeny responded with a remarkable point-blank reaction save just a minute later, keeping Aylesbury in the game.

Manni Taylor had a chance to equalize in the twenty-eighth minute, but his shot went high. Vaughan continued to be a threat, but his attempts in the twenty-ninth minute were saved, as Aylesbury struggled to convert their chances. The first half concluded with a score of 1-0 in favour of Wycombe.

Roars from the Aylesbury Massive could be heard far and wide throughout the match but they started to gain real momentum as the half finished due to bad decisions by the officials!!

The second half saw immediate changes for Aylesbury, with Oli White and Teddy Cheesman coming on for Harrison Walcott and Noah Stappard in the thirty-second minute. The substitutions aimed to inject fresh energy into the team as they sought to level the score.

Noah Weaving had a chance in the thirty-fourth minute, but his shot was saved. Vaughan's effort in the thirty-sixth minute went wide, while Cantwell also missed the target in the thirty-eighth and fortieth minutes. However, the breakthrough finally came for Aylesbury in the forty-first minute when Kai Vaughan scored with an amazing finish, cool, calm and collected, assisted by Teddy Cheesman's clever flick, bringing the score to 1-1.

The momentum shifted as Aylesbury pressed for a second goal, but Vaughan's shot in the forty-fifth minute went wide. Oli White made a vital interception in the forty-sixth minute, preventing a counter-attack from Wycombe. Manni Taylor came close in the forty-eighth minute, hitting the crossbar from a free kick 20 yards out, but the ball did not find the back of the net only glancing on the line!.

In the fifty-fourth minute Noah Weaving deliverd a fierce shot on goal only to be hand-balled by the opposition defender. This resulted in a Penalty being awarded an nominated taker Ryan Goldan stepped up with great confidence after last weeks miss to convert infaticaly in the top right corner to give Aylesbury a 2-1 lead, showcasing their attacking capabilities. Goldan then doubled his tally with a further penalty kick in the fifty-eighth minute, assisted by a foul on Max Cantwell after a great run into the box, extending Aylesbury's lead to 3-1. However, the match was far from over.

In a dramatic turn of events, Wycombe Town AC responded with a goal in the sixtieth minute, narrowing the deficit to 3-2 after a powerful shot slipped through the Dynamos keepers fingers! The excitement continued as Wycombe equalised just three minutes later, scoring again to level the match at 3-3, However, this point changed the game!!! The linesman flagged for offside and together with verbal reasoning for his decision, which seemed to be dismissed from piano playing Stevie Wonder who somehow made it onto the pitch without assistance for most of the game!!. From the Aylesbury Massive's and the die-hard Dynamos management's perspectives this decision was not accepted and we will record this as a Victory!!!!!

The final moments of the match saw Aylesbury's Goldan attempt to add to his tally in the fifty-ninth minute, but his shot was saved. Oli White made a crucial clearance in the sixtieth minute, but the match ended with both teams sharing the spoils in a thrilling match, leaving fans on the edge of their seats.

The final whistle called an end to this encounter but with 20+ attempts on and off target the Dynamos need to learn to finish games off within the time period allowed. We cannot question the character and effort of of every team member today as everyone put in the effort that was called upon them from the management team and everyone gave their all!!

As the whistle blew at the end of the game it drew notable sighs from the away side end, missed fouls, missed penalties and altogether missed officiating from the young referee thwarted this match. We have had reports of unrest in the ranks of the Aylesbury Massive after this game.....notably from a supporter in a orange puffer coat and a second away supporter closest to the RHS of the goal post... these were warranted and were in line with a passionate response to the result given!!.

One Love. One Dynamos!!
