Allscott Ladies v Coventrians
29th September 2013
Allscott suffered defeat in a game closer than the final 2-4 result shows.
Coventrians took control mid way through the first half, racing into a two goal lead, despite Allscott carving out the better of the chances in the first fifteen minutes. Allscott’s best chance saw Stacey Garnham’s shot tipped away towards the back post where Isha Alsadek was waiting for the tap in, but could not get her shot away. Just before half time persistence paid off when the visiting keeper was forced into dropping the ball and Stacey Garnham, following up, made it 2-1 at the break.
Shortly after kicking off for the second half Coventrians restored their two goal lead but Allscott were still in the game and pulled the game back to 2-3 when Jamie Phillips fed Alsadek who did well to beat the keeper and give Allscott hope of a fight back.
There were chances at both ends but Coventrians put the result beyond doubt when they snatched another goal in injury time.
