Home league match played on 12 March 2025.
Kicked off at 3:00 PM

Alhamdu Football Club hosted Prestige Heights F.C at the Kawokudi Astroturf on 12 March 2025, in a gripping league match that concluded with a scoreline of 3-2 in favour of the home side. The match, which kicked off at 3:00 pm, saw Alhamdu display resilience and attacking flair to secure a vital three points.

Alhamdu lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, designed to balance defensive solidity with attacking intent. Taiye Abubakir Afolayan took his position in goal, shielded by a back four comprising Godwin Tekpertey on the right, Yussif Jabel and Abdul Samed Nassiru as central defenders, and Rashid Issaka on the left. The midfield duo of Ramsey Sarpong and Samuel Pyne provided the necessary support to the attacking midfielder Ugochukwu Victéry Okoroma, who was tasked with linking play and creating chances. Up front, Jacob Azumah and Abdul Aziz Osman flanked the central striker Hezekiah Agboola, with the trio expected to exploit the width of the pitch and apply pressure on the opposition defence.

The substitutes for Alhamdu included Nurudeen Alhassan, Sallahudeen Mohammed, Hardi Misbaw, and Bari Zakari, who would be ready to make an impact should the need arise.

The match began with both teams probing for an early advantage, but it was Prestige Heights who struck first, taking the lead in the 24th minute. A lapse in Alhamdu's defence allowed the visitors to capitalise, putting the home side on the back foot.

In response to the early setback, Alhamdu made a tactical change in the 29th minute, bringing on Nurudeen Alhassan for Hezekiah Agboola. This substitution aimed to inject fresh energy into the attack as Alhamdu sought to regain control of the match.

As the first half progressed, tensions rose, and Yussif Jabel received a yellow card in the 41st minute for a bad tackle, further complicating Alhamdu's defensive efforts. However, just before half-time, Ugochukwu Victéry Okoroma levelled the score in the 45th minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake from Prestige Heights. He struck with his left foot after a well-placed cross, sending the teams into the break at 1-1.

The second half saw immediate changes for Alhamdu, with Sallahudeen Mohammed and Hardi Misbaw entering the fray for Jacob Azumah and Samuel Pyne respectively, just after the restart. These adjustments aimed to bolster Alhamdu's midfield presence and enhance their attacking capabilities.

Despite the changes, Prestige Heights found the net again in the 68th minute, regaining the lead and putting Alhamdu under pressure once more. However, the home side refused to be deterred. In the 85th minute, Abdul Aziz Osman scored a stunning goal from outside the area, assisted by Sallahudeen Mohammed's short pass, bringing the score to 2-2 and igniting the home crowd.

With the momentum firmly in their favour, Alhamdu pushed for a winner, and it came in the 87th minute when Ugochukwu Victéry Okoroma scored his second goal of the match. He headed home from close range following a precise cross from Rashid Issaka, sending the home fans into raptures and sealing a dramatic comeback.

As the match drew to a close, Godwin Tekpertey received a yellow card in the 90th minute for offensive language, a minor blemish on an otherwise thrilling performance from Alhamdu. The final whistle confirmed a hard-fought 3-2 victory for Alhamdu Football Club, a result that showcased their resilience and attacking prowess, with Ugochukwu Victéry Okoroma earning the accolade of Player of the Match for his pivotal contributions.
