A.F.C Southbrook went in to the first game of the season with a strong starting line up with 5 very good players on the bench, The team talk before the game was to start fast and thats exactly Southbrook did within the first min of the game Mark Christopher putting just over the bar when through on goal, But Southbrook didn't take long to take the lead as on the 5 minute a lofted ball into the channel sent Peter Burgess away down the right before his low cross into the box was controlled by Ryan Don Kajko before firing into the top left corner, 1-0 quickly became 2-0 as a ball over the top sent Mark Christopher away as he enter the box he cooly lofted the ball over the keepers head into the back of the net, Southbrook would have to wait another 8 mins before the next came along as aTrevor Rogers aka (rory delap) long throw into the box was headed into the back of the net by Adam Christopher, After the third goal went in it was Unity playing all the football in the middle of the park but with no notable chances.
Second Half started exactly how the first half finished with Unity having a lot of the ball but not troubling the Southbrook goal, The game would have to wait until 61st min for its next goal as Southbrook hit Unity on the counter with ball being played into the channel for Ashley Windridge, He cut inside before passing to Mags who twisted and turn in the box before shifting the ball onto his left firing into the top left hand corner from the right side of the box making it 4-0, Unity kept pushing for a goal and they were rewarded on the 65 min as a short corner catched the Southbrook defence out with ball being played in early, The Unity player raising highest to make it 4-1, The game was wrapped up on the 80 min as Southbrook was awarded a freekick about 25-30 out, With Peter Burgess stepping up and firing into the top right hand corner making it 5-1.
Great start to the season and quality finishes from all the goalscorers
