Introduction
The Lincolnshire FA Walking Football League is an amateur football league for players over the age of 50. It is sponsored by www.footballstuff.co.uk, a website that sells football equipment.
History
The league was founded in 2018 by a group of enthusiasts who wanted to create a competitive environment for older players to enjoy the sport of football. The league has grown rapidly in recent years and now has over 30 teams competing in it.
Format
The league is divided into two divisions, the Over 50 Division and the Over 60 Division. Each division has a round-robin format, with each team playing each other once. The top two teams in each division at the end of the season are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the previous division.
Rules
The rules of walking football are similar to the rules of regular football, with a few key differences. Players are not allowed to run, and they must keep one foot on the ground at all times. The ball must also be passed backwards or sideways.
Venues
The league games are played at various venues across Lincolnshire. The most popular venues are the Lincoln City Foundation Stadium, the Boston United Community Stadium, and the Gainsborough Trinity Stadium.
Social Media
The league has a Facebook page and a Twitter account where you can find more information about the league, including fixtures, results, and news.
