KBVB Amateur Football League
The KBVB amateur football league is the governing body for amateur football in Belgium. It is responsible for organizing and overseeing all levels of amateur football in the country, from the lowest regional leagues to the highest provincial leagues.
The KBVB amateur football league is divided into two separate organizations: Voetbal Vlaanderen and the Association des Clubs Francophones de Football (ACFF). Voetbal Vlaanderen is responsible for amateur football in the Flemish region of Belgium, while the ACFF is responsible for amateur football in the Francophone region of Belgium.
History
The KBVB amateur football league was founded in 1895. It was originally called the Union Belge des Sociétés de Football Association (UBSFA). The UBSFA was renamed the KBVB in 1920.
The KBVB amateur football league has grown significantly over the years. In the early days, there were only a few dozen clubs affiliated with the league. Today, there are over 25,000 clubs affiliated with the KBVB amateur football league.
Structure
The KBVB amateur football league is divided into a number of different leagues. The lowest level is the District Leagues. There are 26 District Leagues in Belgium, one for each of the provinces.
The next level up is the Provincial Leagues. There are 10 Provincial Leagues in Belgium, one for each of the language regions.
The top level of the KBVB amateur football league is the National Amateur Football League (NAFL). The NAFL is divided into two divisions, the NAFL First Division and the NAFL Second Division.
