Herefordshire Mind Veterans Football League
The Herefordshire Mind Veterans Football League is an amateur football league for men and women over the age of 35. It is affiliated to the Herefordshire Football Association and is based in Herefordshire, England.
History
The league was founded in 2005 by Herefordshire Mind, a mental health charity. The aim of the league was to provide a competitive and enjoyable footballing experience for people over the age of 35, as well as to raise awareness of mental health issues.
The league has grown steadily since its inception and currently has over 30 teams competing in it. The teams are divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One.
Season structure
The league season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team in their division twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to Division One, while the bottom two teams in Division One are relegated to the Premier Division.
The winners of the Premier Division are crowned champions of the Herefordshire Mind Veterans Football League.
