Elite Clubs National League
The Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) is a national youth soccer developmental league in the United States. It was founded in 2009 as a girls' league and added a boys' league in 2017.
History
The ECNL was founded by a group of youth soccer leaders who were dissatisfied with the state of youth soccer in the United States. They believed that there was a need for a more competitive and challenging league that would better prepare players for college and professional soccer.
The ECNL quickly became the top youth soccer league in the United States. In 2017, it added a boys' league to complement its girls' league.
Structure
The ECNL is a league-based competition. There are 128 teams in the girls' league and 151 teams in the boys' league. The teams are divided into regional conferences.
The teams play a regular season of games against teams in their conference. The top teams in each conference qualify for the ECNL Playoffs.
Player Development
The ECNL is committed to player development. The league provides its players with access to top-level coaching, competition, and resources.
The ECNL also has a strong college placement record. Over 90% of ECNL players go on to play college soccer.
