Introduction
The Avon Amateur Football League is an amateur football league based in the Avon area of England. It was founded in 1920 and currently consists of over 100 clubs.
The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One. The Premier Division is the highest level of competition in the league and is contested by the top clubs in the area. Division One is the second tier of competition and is contested by the next tier of clubs.
The league season runs from September to May and each team plays each other twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to the Gloucestershire County League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division One.
The league also has a cup competition, the Avon Amateur Football League Cup. The cup competition is open to all clubs in the league and is played in a knockout format.
