History
Wentworth Warriors FC was founded in 1962 by a group of local residents. The club quickly rose through the ranks of South African football, and in 1979 they won promotion to the National Soccer League (NSL), the top tier of South African football at the time.
The Warriors remained in the NSL for the next 10 years, and during that time they achieved some notable successes. In 1982, they won the NSL Cup, and in 1984 they finished as runners-up in the NSL.
However, the Warriors were forced to withdraw from the NSL in 1989 due to financial difficulties. The club spent the next few years in the lower leagues, before returning to the SAB League in 2004.
