Swartkops United Football Club is a South African soccer team based in Swartkops, Port Elizabeth. The club was founded in 1965 and currently competes in the Eastern Cape SAB League.
History
Swartkops United was founded in 1965 by a group of local residents. The club initially competed in the local amateur leagues, but quickly rose through the ranks. In 1980, Swartkops United won promotion to the Eastern Cape SAB League, where they have competed ever since.
The club's most successful period came in the 1990s, when they won the Eastern Cape SAB League championship three times. Swartkops United also reached the final of the SAB National League in 1995, but lost to Highlands Park.
Recent seasons
Swartkops United have struggled in recent seasons, finishing in the bottom half of the Eastern Cape SAB League table in each of the last three seasons. However, the club is hoping to bounce back in the 2023-24 season.
