The Stirling Lions Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Coolbinia, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1970 and currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia.
History
The Stirling Lions Football Club was founded in 1970 by a group of local soccer enthusiasts. The club initially competed in the Western Australian Amateur Soccer League, before moving to the State League in 1973. The Lions won their first State League title in 1975, and have since won a further 11 titles.
In 2004, the Stirling Lions Football Club joined the National Soccer League, the top flight of Australian soccer at the time. The Lions spent two seasons in the NSL, before being relegated in 2006.
Since 2007, the Stirling Lions Football Club has competed in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia, the second tier of Australian soccer. The Lions have won the NPL WA title on four occasions, in 2008, 2010, 2014, and 2016.
