Southside Eagles FC formed with the almalgamation of the Germania & Southside Belmont Clubs in 1968 at Memorial Park, Bulimba. The club was a break away from East-Aston Villa around 1965.
SSE FC created Brisbane football history by being the only club to win the Presidents Cup, Ampol Cup, Grand Final and League Championship in 1978. 1979 and the club entered the State League but realising the league was a financial disater withdrew. After a short stint back in Division 1, relegation followed.
Numerous restructures by Football QLD (formerly QLD Soccer Federation), Southside Eagles found itself competitive in Division Two. In 2010 the Club did the double (League Champions & Grand Final winners) to gain promotion where it contintues to strive for BPL status.
