San Paolo Football Club is a professional soccer team based in San Diego, California. The team was founded in 1966 and currently competes in the United Soccer League Championship (USL Championship), the second tier of American soccer.

San Paolo plays its home games at Torero Stadium on the campus of the University of San Diego. The team's colors are red, black, and white.

History

San Paolo was founded in 1966 by a group of Italian immigrants. The team's first season was in the American Soccer League (ASL). San Paolo won the ASL championship in 1967 and 1968.

In 1978, San Paolo joined the North American Soccer League (NASL). The team reached the NASL semifinals in 1979 and 1980.

San Paolo folded in 1984 after the NASL folded. The team was revived in 2008 and began play in the USL Second Division. San Paolo won the USL Second Division championship in 2012.

In 2015, San Paolo joined the USL Championship. The team has reached the USL Championship playoffs in each of its first four seasons.
