History
Oval FC was founded in 1970 by a group of friends who wanted to play soccer in Irene. The team quickly rose through the ranks of the South African soccer pyramid and reached the National First Division in 1980.
The team remained in the National First Division until 1996, when they were relegated to the Vodacom League. Oval FC have since been playing in the SAB League.
Recent seasons
Oval FC finished in 10th place in the SAB League Gauteng Stream A in the 2021-22 season. The team's top scorer was Thabang Moloi, who scored 12 goals.
