Napier City Rovers Football Club is a football club based in Napier, New Zealand. They currently compete in the Central Premier League, the second tier of football in New Zealand.
The club was founded in 1910 and has won the Central Premier League on 12 occasions, most recently in 2019. They have also won the Chatham Cup, the national cup competition, twice, in 1979 and 1994.
History
Napier City Rovers were founded in 1910 by a group of local footballers. The club's first home ground was the Showgrounds, but they moved to Bluewater Stadium in 1998.
The club's most successful period was in the 1970s and 1980s, when they won the Central Premier League six times and the Chatham Cup twice. They also reached the final of the New Zealand National Soccer League in 1984.
The club has struggled in recent years, but they have been rebuilding in recent seasons and are now one of the strongest teams in the Central Premier League.
