Mendoza Celtic FC is a football (soccer) team based in Cape Town, South Africa. The club was founded in 1963 by a group of Scottish immigrants, and is named after the city of Mendoza in Argentina, which is home to a large Scottish community.
Mendoza Celtic FC plays in the Western Province Soccer Association (WPSA) First Division, which is the third tier of football in South Africa. The club has won the WPSA First Division title twice, in 1984 and 2017.
History
Mendoza Celtic FC was founded in 1963 by a group of Scottish immigrants who were living in Cape Town. The club was originally called "The Caledonians", but was renamed to Mendoza Celtic FC in 1965.
Mendoza Celtic FC played in the Cape Town Amateur Football Association (CTAFA) until 1984, when they were promoted to the WPSA First Division. The club won their first WPSA First Division title in 1984, and repeated this achievement in 2017.
Mendoza Celtic FC has also competed in the Nedbank Cup, which is the premier cup competition in South Africa. The club's best performance in the Nedbank Cup came in 2009, when they reached the quarterfinals.

Mendoza Celtic FC plays their home matches at the Wynberg Sports Complex in Wynberg, Cape Town. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 spectators.
