Legacy Football Club is a South African soccer team based in Johannesburg. The club was founded in 1903 and is one of the oldest football clubs in South Africa. Legacy has won the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) championship twice, in 1983 and 2005. The club has also won the Nedbank Cup twice, in 1983 and 2005.
History
Legacy Football Club was founded in 1903 by a group of British immigrants living in Johannesburg. The club's first home ground was at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg. Legacy won its first major trophy, the South African Cup Winners' Cup, in 1959. The club won its first PSL championship in 1983. Legacy won its second PSL championship in 2005.
Recent History
Legacy has not won any major trophies since 2005. The club has struggled in recent years and has been relegated from the PSL twice. Legacy is currently playing in the National First Division, the second tier of South African football.
