History
GOLDEN CHIEFS FC were founded in 1995 by a group of friends who wanted to create a football team in Republiken Swellendam. The team quickly became successful, winning the Western Cape Regional League in their first season. They have since gone on to win the league a further 3 times, most recently in 2022.
GOLDEN CHIEFS FC have also competed in the South African FA Cup on several occasions, reaching the quarterfinals in 2017.

GOLDEN CHIEFS FC play their home games at the Golden Chiefs Sports Ground in Republiken Swellendam. The stadium has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.
