History
Glenwegians Football Club was founded in 2000 by a group of Scottish expatriates living in Pretoria. The club's name is a reference to the city of Glasgow, Scotland.
The club started playing in the amateur leagues in Pretoria. In 2010, the club was promoted to the SAB League, the second tier of South African football.
In 2018, Glenwegians Football Club was promoted to the Gold League. The club has finished in the top half of the table in each of its seasons in the Gold League.

Gold Football League
The Gold League is the third tier of South African football. It is administered by the South African Football Association (SAFA).
The Gold League consists of 16 teams. The teams are divided into two groups of eight. The top four teams in each group at the end of the season qualify for the promotion play-offs.
The winner of the promotion play-offs is promoted to the GladAfrica Championship, the second tier of South African football.
