Capelli Stars is a youth soccer club based in New Jersey. It was founded in 2011 and has since grown to become one of the largest and most successful clubs in the state. Capelli Stars offers programs for players of all ages and skill levels, and has produced many college and professional players.
History
Capelli Stars was founded in 2011 by Anthony Nixon and John Bell. The club was originally called the Cedar Stars Soccer Club, but it was renamed Capelli Stars in 2017 after a sponsorship deal with Capelli Sport, a soccer apparel company.
Capelli Stars has grown rapidly since its inception. In 2011, the club had just one team. By 2023, it had over 200 teams and more than 5,000 players. Capelli Stars has also expanded its geographic reach, with programs now offered in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.
Accomplishments
- Capelli Stars has won numerous state and regional championships.
- The club has produced many college and professional players, including Ronald Arevalo, who plays for HB Køge in Denmark.
- Capelli Stars was the first club in New Jersey to be awarded the US Soccer Development Academy (DA) charter.
- The club has also been recognized by US Soccer for its commitment to excellence.
