Biter Bears Football (Soccer) Team
The Biter Bears are a football (soccer) team based in Canton, Ohio. They were founded in 1920 and play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The Bears have won the NPSL championship twice, in 2015 and 2017.
History
The Biter Bears were founded in 1920 by a group of local businessmen. The team's name was inspired by the fierceness of the bear, which is a symbol of strength and determination.
The Bears played in the amateur Ohio State Soccer League for many years before joining the NPSL in 2013. They quickly established themselves as one of the top teams in the league, winning the championship in their first season.
The Bears have continued to be a successful team in the NPSL, winning the championship again in 2017. They have also made several appearances in the NPSL playoffs.
Current Season
The Biter Bears are currently in their 10th season in the NPSL. They are currently in second place in the Great Lakes Conference, with a record of 7-1-2.
The Bears are led by head coach Mike Jacobs. Jacobs has been with the team since 2013 and has led them to two NPSL championships.
The Bears are hoping to win their third NPSL championship this season. They will need to continue their strong play in the remaining games of the regular season and then win the playoffs.
