Willowfield 10th Old Boys is a grassroots football team based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The team was founded in 1927 and currently competes in the Down Area and Belfast & District Football Leagues.
History
The team was originally formed as a youth team by the Willowfield Unionist Club. In 1927, the team was promoted to the Intermediate League, where they won the championship in their first season. The following season, the team won the Irish Cup, becoming the first team from outside the Irish League to do so since 1890.
The team continued to compete in the Intermediate League until 1939, when the league was suspended due to World War II. After the war, the team returned to the Intermediate League, but they were unable to replicate their previous success.
In 1974, the team was forced to fold due to financial difficulties. However, the team was reformed in 1981 and has been competing in the grassroots leagues ever since.
Current Season
Willowfield 10th Old Boys currently have three teams competing in the Down Area and Belfast & District Football Leagues. The first team is currently in the Premier Division of the Down Area League, while the second team is in the First Division of the Belfast & District League. The third team is in the Second Division of the Belfast & District League.
