West End Football Club is a football team based in the Mayhill area of Swansea, Wales. They play in the West Wales Premier League, which is in the fourth tier of the Welsh football pyramid.
History
West End were formed in 1964 by a group of local football enthusiasts who met in a local public house called 'The Wellington'. The club's name originates from the fact it was born geographically in the West End of Swansea.
In their first season, West End won the Swansea Senior League Division Two title. They then went on to win the Division One title in 1966 and the Premier Division title in 1970.
In 1973, West End won the FAW Trophy, defeating Rhydymwyn F.C. at Rhayader. This is the club's only major trophy win to date.
West End have played in the West Wales Premier League since its formation in 2002. They have finished as runners-up on three occasions, in 2003, 2007 and 2018.
Recent seasons
West End finished in seventh place in the West Wales Premier League in 2022-23. They have also reached the semi-finals of the FAW Trophy in the past two seasons.
The club's current manager is Mark Jones. He was appointed in 2021.
