The club was founded in 1921 and has won the AFC Premier Division on four occasions, most recently in 2019. They have also won the AFC Cup twice, in 2015 and 2018.
The club's home ground is Shiplake Playing Fields. They have a long-standing rivalry with another local team, Caversham AFC.

Amateur Football Combination
The Amateur Football Combination is an amateur football league in the south of England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has 16 teams in its Premier Division.
The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and Division One. The top four teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to the Combined Counties League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division One.
The AFC is a competitive league and has produced a number of professional footballers, including former England internationals David James and Chris Powell.
