Tresing FC was founded in 1967 by a group of local residents. The club initially competed in the Dumbarton & District Amateur League, before moving up to the West of Scotland Football League in 1972.
The club's most successful period came in the 1980s, when they won the West of Scotland Football League First Division on three occasions (1982, 1985, and 1988). Tresing FC also reached the final of the Scottish Junior Cup in 1985, but lost to Kilwinning Rangers.
Recent seasons
Tresing FC has struggled in recent seasons, and was relegated from the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division in 2017. The club currently competes in the West of Scotland Football League First Division.
