Totley FC was founded in 1972 by a group of local residents. The team's first season was in the Sheffield & District Sunday League.
In 1978, the team joined the Sheffield & District Amateur Football League. The team has won the league championship on three occasions, in 1985, 1997, and 2009.
Totley FC has also won the Sheffield & District Amateur Football League Cup on four occasions, in 1992, 1997, 2008, and 2010.
