We are a group of people that brings kids together to play football, some people don't play the official matches but the majority will usually play. We have 2 age groups, 3-7 and 7-14. Sometimes we train with each other, most of the time we don't. The first half an hour of training we do stretching, running and most important of all team building with the ball. Our manager, Mark Barford, allows dads to take part as well, that way they can build on bonding with their child and others around them. History
Swan Mead Football Club was founded in 2012 by a group of friends who wanted to play football together. The team started out in the Basildon and District Sunday League and quickly rose through the divisions. In 2016, the team moved to the South Essex Sunday League, where they have been competing ever since.
The team has had a lot of success in recent years, winning the South Essex Sunday League Cup in 2019 and 2020. They have also been runners-up in the league on two occasions.
Current Season
Swan Mead Football Club are currently competing in the South Essex Sunday League Premier Division. The team is currently in 7th place, with 20 points from 12 games.
The team's next game is against Bowers and Pitsea on Saturday, September 10th. The game will be played at the Bowers and Pitsea Sports Ground, kick-off is at 2:30pm.
