SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz is a German football club from the town of Pirna in the Free State of Saxony. The club was founded in 1920 and currently plays in the Sparkassen Kreisoberliga, the seventh tier of the German football league system.
The club's home ground is the Sportplatz Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz, which has a capacity of 1,000 spectators.
History
SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz was founded in 1920 as Sportverein Birkwitz. The club played in the lower leagues of East German football until the end of World War II.
After the war, the club was re-founded as SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz and played in the Bezirksliga Dresden, the third tier of East German football. The club was relegated to the Bezirksklasse Dresden in 1952 and then to the Kreisliga Pirna in 1955.
After the reunification of Germany in 1990, SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz joined the Landesliga Sachsen, the fifth tier of German football. The club was relegated to the Bezirksliga Pirna in 1992 and then to the Kreisliga Pirna in 1994.
SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz won the Kreisliga Pirna in 2002 and 2003 and was promoted to the Bezirksliga Pirna. The club won the Bezirksliga Pirna in 2006 and was promoted to the Landesliga Sachsen-Mitte.
SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz was relegated from the Landesliga Sachsen-Mitte in 2012 and then from the Bezirksliga Pirna in 2015. The club has been playing in the Kreisoberliga since 2016.

SV Birkwitz-Pratzschwitz finished the 2022-23 season in 10th place in the Sparkassen Kreisoberliga. The club scored 51 goals and conceded 63 goals.

The Sparkassen Kreisoberliga is the seventh tier of the German football league system in the Free State of Saxony. The league is organized by the Sächsischer Fußball-Verband (SFV).
The league currently consists of 14 teams. The champions of the Sparkassen Kreisoberliga are promoted to the Landesliga Sachsen-Mitte. The bottom two teams are relegated to the Kreisliga.
The Sparkassen Kreisoberliga is sponsored by the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe, a financial services group in Germany.
