The team was formed in 2009 as a result of an influx of younger players into the First Eleven of Stepping Hill FC. The philosophy of the team is very much about enjoying their football.
The team is known for its strong camaraderie and friendly atmosphere. They are always looking for new players to join the team, regardless of age or ability.
The team's home ground is Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport.
History
Stepping Hill Veterans President's Eleven were originally formed in 1999 as a largely medical team, hailing from the revered medical establishment in Stockport.
Following success in local leagues, the aging team stepped down a gear and spent two seasons playing friendlies, before joining the recently formed Cheshire Veterans League.
In 2002, there came a change of Management, and many of the older players retired. The team then went through a period of rebuilding, before eventually finding their feet in the Cheshire Veterans League.
In recent years, the team has enjoyed a period of success, winning the Cheshire Veterans League Division Five title in 2015.
The team has also been involved in a number of international tournaments, including the World Medical Games.
Current Season
Stepping Hill Veterans President's Eleven are currently competing in the Cheshire Veterans League Division Five.
The team is currently in third place in the league, with two games in hand on the leaders.
The team has been in good form this season, winning their last three games.
The team's next game is against Plumley on 10 September 2023.
Cheshire Veterans League
The Cheshire Veterans League is a football league for men over the age of 35.
The league was founded in 1999 and currently has over 100 teams competing in it.
The league is divided into three divisions: Premier, Division One, and Division Two.
The top two teams from each division are promoted at the end of the season, while the bottom two teams are relegated.
The league's headquarters are located in Stockport, United Kingdom.
