History

St Matthews FC was founded in 1995 by a group of friends who wanted to create a football team that would provide opportunities for young people in the Brixton area. The team started out playing in local leagues and gradually worked their way up to the Southern Sunday Football League.

In recent years, St Matthews FC have enjoyed some success in the Southern Sunday Football League. They won the league in 2017 and have also reached the cup final on several occasions.
