St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals Football Club (SBLHFC) are the football club of Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, having been formed from the merger of two formerly distinct hospital football clubs each with a long history.
- The London Hospital Medical College F.C. was founded in 1877.
- St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College F.C. was founded in 1879.
The two clubs merged in 1995 to form SBLHFC. The club currently competes in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and the London Universities Sport (LUSL) leagues.
SBLHFC has a rich history, and has won numerous trophies, including the United Hospitals Cup on 13 occasions. The club has also produced a number of professional footballers, including Jimmy Greaves, Ronnie Boyce, and John Salako.
