History
Spartan Football Club was founded in 1972 by a group of local footballers who wanted to create a club that would provide opportunities for players of all abilities to play football. The club's first home ground was at The Triangle in Camberwell.
Spartan quickly established itself as a force in local football, winning the Camberwell & Peckham League in its first season. The club then moved up to the Greater London League, where it has competed ever since.
Spartan's greatest success came in the 1980s, when the club won the Greater London League Premier Division four times (1980, 1982, 1983, and 2019). The club also reached the final of the FA Vase on two occasions (1981 and 2019), losing both times.
